Sound Healing
It’s a proven fact that the treatment with the sound waves recovers the healthy balance of the body. No one will resist the benign impact of gongs and singing bowls. Any sound born within them and suspended in time, acquires the complete resonance quality. It spreads itself into space continuously until reaching its fullness. The unusual range of overtones nourishes us, and we’re plunging into a sound bath. We can feel our own body releasing itself yielding to the harmonic vibrations and letting them do their job. A feeling of levitation, timelessness and bliss appears. It comes hand-in-hand with the awareness of detachment, empathy, and peace.
This description is an exact one for the emotions I experienced at my first gong session. It was performed by the Red Doors studio at the Asia Yoga Conference Evolution in Hong Kong in 2018. Since then, I longed to go through it again. To my surprise, I couldn’t find the offers for sound healing sessions in my native town, Odessa. Giving Triyoga classes, I felt the lack of the singing bowls or planetary gongs. Their sound would be a complete experience during yoga nidra. The Universe responses to our requests, and it was in autumn that the International Academy of Sound Healing (New York) invited me to the gongs and singing bowls playing course. In the end of 2018, I could call myself a soundhealer. During the following years, I held dozens of open and private concerts with the planetary gongs Earth and Mars made by the Swiss company Paiste, the chakra set of the singing bowls, and other instruments. Triyoga has become the most desired and relevant implementation for this knowledge. Namely, during yoga nidra— the conclusive part of the practice. After a series of breath practice and dynamic exercises students plunge into the yoga sleep, which healing effect increases multiple times with the impact of vibrations produced by the gongs and singing bowls.
